Prachanda addresses election rally in Sankhu; says two-thirds majority sure in November 19 election

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that federalism with identity and constitution with federalism was his party’s bottom line.

Addressing a mass meeting in Sankhu of Kathmandu Constituency No.2, Chairman Dahal said failure to bring constitution was the weakness of all political parties despite consensus on federalism and form of governance.

Prachanda also said that the UCPN (Maoist) is sure to get two-thirds majority in the upcoming CA election and would draft a pro-people constitution by assimilating the sentiments of people of all walks of life.

Expressing hope that even the dissenting political parties, including the ones led by Ashok Rai and Upendra Yadav, will participate in the election, Chairman Dahal said, “Thirteen thousand people became martyrs for the sake of the Constituent Assembly elections, so leader Mohan Baidya and his group have no right at all to backtrack from the CA election.”

He argued that if the parties failed again to make constitution through the coming CA elections, even the spirit of the late GP Koirala would not feel peace.

On the occasion, campaign coordinator and party Spokesperson Agni Sapkota said the 15-day public relations campaign of the party very encouraging.
