Former PM Marich Man Singh passes away

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Marich Man Singh has passed away at 3:00 am today. He was 71. Born in Salyan district of mid-west Nepal, Singh served as Nepal’s prime minister from 1986 to 1990–before the first people’s movement.

The former prime minister died at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali in Kathmandu while undergoing treatment. He was suffering from cancer for long.

His last rites would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat at 1:00 pm today itself.
