No reason to postpone CA election: Agni Sapkota
KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that no political party or group would be against the Constituent Assembly election slated to be held on November 19 this year.
At a regular press meet organized at the party central office at Parisdanda here today, Sapkota said that an understanding has already been reached with the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum and the associated front and most of the demands raised by the Federal Socialist Party have been addressed by that understanding.
He said the CPN-Maoist that is opposed to the election process would also gradually join in the election process. “The High Level Political Committee has proceeded talks with them in a serious manner, hence, the country has moved forward on the process to the Constituent Assembly election,” he said.
The UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson said that the election has been guaranteed as the proportional representation has been increased and provisions have been made for the equal representation of women and the indigenous nationalities through the agreement reached with the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum and its allied front.
He refuted the rumours that the election date would be postponed, saying from whichever side this originated the topic was unacceptable.
Stating that the UCPN (Maoist) has geared up for the elections nationwide with the aim of making it successful, he said this election campaign started buy the party has given out a positive message and the people are committed to participating in the election.
