CA election never possible if November 19 poll thwarted: Prachanda


JANAKPUR: Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that country will never get an opportunity to promulgate the constitution through the Constituent Assembly (CA) if the upcoming CA election was thwarted.

“So, the November 19 CA election should be made a historic one despite some parties chose to boycott,” he said.
At an interaction on Tuesday, Dahal said his stance to contest the election from the Madhes has not changed. “I will contest from Madhes and will go to Singh Durbar by representing the Madhesis,” he said.

Dahal also acknowledged that major mistakes were held in the past regarding some political steps and vowed not to repeat them.

Saying that he did maximum for to empower Madhesis and marginalized communities by introducing Bill on Inclusion, the former prime minister also expressed dissatisfaction for not getting support from some major parties to materalise his plan.

Prachanda also urged the civil society leaders and intellectuals to identify whether the allegations labelled against him were true.
