Parties resolve for round-table conference
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s political parties on Thursday decided to hold an all-party meeting to resolve all outstanding issues. Political parties affiliated with the High Level Political Mechanism and the 33-disssenting-party alliance reached such a decision following a meeting of the top brass leaders in Kathmandu.
Though a date for the said meeting has not been ascertained, the meeting decided to resolve all differences surrounding the proposed CA elections through a joint meeting of all parties that represented in the erstwhile Consituent Assembly (CA).
Prior to this the dissenting 33 party led by the CPN Maoist had denied to boycott the CA elections demanding scrapping of the proposed CA elections on November 19, dissolution of the incumbent government, scrapping of the 25 point agreement on resolving constitutional hurdles reached among major political parties, and organizing an all-party round table conference to resolve political status quo.
