Koirala denies to negotiate CA election date with dissenting parties

CHITWAN: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that it was impossible to postpone the elections scheduled for November 19, as all preparations for it have reached the final stage.

In a meeting with party cadres here on Sunday morning, the NC President said there was no alternative to holding elections through the present government.

Koirala, who also chairs the High Level Political Committee (HLPC), said the country would face a disaster if elections were not held on November 19.

The NC President is here to take part in the general convention of Nepal Trade Union Congress, Independent that is taking place at Ratnanagar of Chitwan starting today.

Party leaders Prakash Man Singh, Arjun Nar Singh KC, Bimalendra Nidhi and Badri Pandey have already arrived while vice president Ram Chandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Krishna Sitaula, Sujata Koirala and other leaders are arriving later in the day, according to NC Chitwan Chair Tek Prasad Gurung.

More than 1,500 cadres and members of the Union have arrived here from across the country to take part in the three-day convention.
