CPN UML – Ilam proposes Khanal and Nembang

CPN UML Chairman Jhalnath Khanal

KATHMANDU: The Illam chapter of CPN UML has proposed Jhalnath Khanal and former Constituent Assembly speaker Subash as party’s electoral candidate for the proposed second CA elections.

The party’s district office has proposed five candidates including Khanal from first electoral constituency and Nembang from constituency no 2 after the regional meet endorsed him unanimously.

In number 1 constituency, Khanal could not garner consensus for his candidacy and is presently competing Kajiman Kagatey, Bir Bahadur Lapcha, Khinu Ladwa, and Ratna Adhikari.

However sources near the party have claimed that Khanal’s candidacy from that area is certain. Similarly the party has proposed Mahesh Basnet, Bhakta KC, Tek Bahadur Rai, Krishna Shrestha and Padam Bhandari from constituency no 3 of the district.

The UCPN Maoist has already finalized its candidates for all the three constituencies.
