UCPN Maoist hints at deferring CA elections by less than week
KATHMANDU: Spokesperson of the UCPN-Maoist, Agni Prasad Sapkota, said that the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) will be held on the slated date of November 19.
At a regular press meet organised at party headquarters, Koteshwor on Saturday, Spokesperson Sapkota said that date of the election could be deferred by two to four days, if the agitating CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya joined the election process.
He further said even the Election Commission had given a signal for special management to the Baidya-led party if it joined the election.
The Spokesperson claimed that the Baidya-led Maoist was flexible at the all-party meeting called by the head of the state to discuss about the CA polls yesterday.
He also said the possibility of alliance between the CPN-Maoist and his party for the election was growing.
The two parties have continuously talked for holding election on time, leader Sapkota added.
Moreover, he informed that his party would make public the election manifesto by September 23.
