President- PM discuss army mobilization during CA polls

KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Chairman of the Interim Election Council (IEC), Khil Raj Regmi on Thursday held discussions on the mobilization of Nepal Army during the proposed Constituent Assembly elections.

During the meeting held at the the former’s official residence at Sheetal Niwas the meeting also discussed contemporary political issues, poll security management carried by the government, latest election preparations, among other issues, sources near the President confirmed.

The President is the Supreme Commander of Nepal Army.

The discussion comes at a time when olitical parties and the government are discussing deployment of the Nepal Army in the Constituent Assembly polls, slated for November 19 this year.

Prior to this the government had issued Integrated Security Plan (ISP) proposing to deploy army for the November 19 poll.
