Dissenting 33 parties announce 10-day shutdown to foil CA elections

KATHMANDU: The CPN Maoist led 33 dissenting political parties have announced 10 day nation wide shutdown from November 11 to November 20 to directly affect the Constituent Assembly elections slated for November 19.

A meeting of the alliance in Kathmandu took the decision among others. Along with that the alliance has also decided to actively support/implement any nature of shutdown in any districts which is visited by any leader from the four major political parties.

The alliance has further decided to burn effigy of four major party leaders across the nation on October 3, the day fixed by the Election Commission to register nominations.
