Unity among federalist necessary: Dahal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Unified CPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said the unity among the federalist and progressive political parties was very essential.

Addressing a programme organised at his residence to welcome newcomers to his party on Tuesday, Chairman Dahal said it has been necessary to forge unity among the progressive forces to address people’s desire for social transformation.

He claimed that only UCPN-Maoist could provide constitution as per people’s need and steer the change.

During the programme, district secretary of the Nepali Congress, Baburam Ojha, UML leader from Dang Krishna Bhushal, film producer Rambha Oli and other two dozen leaders and cadres from different political parties joined the UCPN -Maoist.

Speaking at the programme, leader Ojha said he and his colleagues joined the UCPN-Maoist, for it was only force advocating for the institutionalisation of the social and political changes in the country.
