R Janamorcha Nepal finalizes its line up for CA elections
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal has announced its line up for the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections under both the first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional system.
The party announced its list by organizing a press conference at the Reporters Club Nepal in the capital. The party has announced the names of 140 candidates for FPTP system and 98 candidates for the proportional system.
Chairman of the party, Chitra Bahadur KC, who had earlier won from his home district Baglung, is not contesting in the direct voting. He has opted for the proportional seat in the Constituent Assembly this time.
RJM said it has decided to pitch 50 male and 50 female candidates for the PR. Two male candidates are yet to be named.
According to the party, there would be 18 candidates from Mahakali region, 17 from Karnali, 34 from Lumbini, 17 from Dhaulagiri, Bagmati, Narayani each, six from Janakpur Sagarmatha and 13 from Mechi-Koshi for the FPTP election.
On the occasion KC warned that the alliance of the UCPN Maoist and Madhesh parties were a threat to national sovereignty and claimed that his party will always stand to safeguard national interest.
