CPN Maoists reiterates decision to boycott CA elections

KATHMANDU: The CPN Maoist party has decided to boycott the Constituent Assembly elections slated for November 19.  The politburo meeting of the party that leads the 33 party alliance that has stood against the CA elections, slammed the CA elections as a drama and concluded that it had no option but to stay out of it.

With the decision, the meeting endorsed party’s earlier protest programs that include 10-day general shutdown to affect the CA poll.

In a press release issued by the party after concluding the three day meeting, the party has accused the major parties of botching up consensus dialogues with their party and their alliance.

Terming it an conspiracy to keep them out of the CA elections, the party also pledged to bring together all democratic and patriotic forces to promulgate the new constitution through struggle.
