Rekha looses chances of contending elections



Kathmandu: UCPN Maoist’s one of the best bet in the upcoming Constituent Assembly election, Rekha Thapa, has lost her chances to join. The acctress lost her eligibility to contend in the elections after her name was not registered in the electoral roll.

The party had given her ticket to contend the elections from Parsa-1. Simiarly former MP Mahendra Paswan, Birman Chaudhary and Hari Gyanwali’s name are also missing in the electoral roll.

Follwing the revelation, party Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal had consulted Interim Election Cabinet Chairman Khilaraj Regmi and President DR. Ram Baran Yadav for correcting such errors by brining an ordinance.

Meanwhile, Dahal got some respite in Siraha-5 constituency after one of his contender, MJD-Nepal candidate Dr. Birendra Mahato pulled out his candidacy.

Birendra pulled out his candidacy from the constituency following a call from his brother NRN Founding President Upendra Mahato from Russia.
