Over hundred film artists join Congress en masse

Kathmandu: While the CA election is just 10 days away, a horde of artists have joined Nepali Congress (NC) today with a commitment to help the party in winning the election. Those joining the party are renowned film artists, including filmmakers, directors, actors, actresses, singers, cinematographers, musicians and technicians.
Director Ramesh Budhathoki, Actress Jharana Thapa, Melina Manandhar, Sumnima Ghimire, actor Dhiren Shakya, Jeewan Luitel, producer Raj Kumar Rai, Nir Shah, Cinematographer Purushottam Pradhan, photographer Rajjev Shrestha, singer Prakash Ojha and Dambar Nepali, among other artists, have joined the NC today.
NC president Sushil Koirala welcomed new entrants to the party amid a function held today at his own residence Maharajgung. He also provided the general membership of the party to them.
The artists have said that they will be involved actively in the party’s campaigns to help the party win the CA election.
However, some of the artists who joined the NC were those who had also joined the UCPN (Maoist) few months ago.
