The 2558th Buddha Jayanti is being observed across the world
KATHMANDU, May 14. The 2558th Buddha Jayanti is being observed across the country and the world today wishing for peace and harmony on Wednesday.
Spreading the message of peace, love and harmony, various organisations are organising programmes with special worships, hymns and discussions on the Buddha’s teaching to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha.
Buddha Jayanti commemorates the day on which the Light of Asia was born, attained enlightenment, and died (got “Mahaparinirvana”). The day falls on the full moon day in the Nepali month of Baishakh.
Buddhists throughout the world celebrate the day paying obeisance to the Buddha. On the auspicious Occasion of this festival the government has declared a national holiday today.
