Bhattarai’s strategy: Building party within party

KATHMANDU: With tensions escalating between the Puspa Kamal Dahal led and Baburam Bhattarai led factions with the UCPN Maoist, the latter’s faction has adopted the strategy to form party within party and organization within organization.

Bhattarai’s close aide said that his faction, initially, will continue their struggles to transform the part. But if these efforts do not materialize, they will push their energy in building a new political power. The faction is wrangling its muscles to put their demands through in the upcoming Central Committee meeting of the party and if things don’t go the way intended, than the faction will hold nationwide training campaigning programs, told one of Bhattarai’s close aide.

Bhattarai has been laying stress on the need to transform the basis of the party system, and also to move ahead on the path of social revolution through the drafting of progressive constitution. Speaking to the Nepalireporter.com, Bhattarai said,”We are yet to conclude our decision to build a new party. For now we will continue our struggles for reforming to this party.”

“Our whole effort are being concentrated on building the party with a new leadership,”  Bhattarai said warning that if the institutional faction won’t accept his agenda properly his faction will choose the way of build the new party.

Bhattarai stressed “Party does not only belong to favoritism, blind supporters, but also to critiques and to those with different opinions and views. The party should develop a system that promotes and respects such diversity.
