PHSC begins hearing with recommended Justices on Friday.

Kathmandu, May 23.The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee has started hearing of controversial recommendation of eight Justices from Friday.

As in the earlier JC recommended to the eight judges , it was turned quite controversy after law bodies including Nepal Bar Association (NBA) criticized the JC for recommending individuals with tainted judicial reputation as SC judges.

The PHSC had earlier decided to seek details from JC of the process to select judges and reasons for their selection.

Similarly, on May 15, the JC had refused to abide by the PHSC summons and the SC issued a stay order on May 16, directing the PHSC not to summon JC members, undermining the independence of the judiciary.
