Voting begins at RPP-Nepal for leadership



Kathmandu, May 27. Voting to elect a new central working committee has begun at the first general convention of the Nepal Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal. The voting started from 8 am this morning would continue till 12 noon.

The incumbent chairman Kamal Thapa and senior leader Padma Sundar Lawati are the competitors to the post of Chairman. As many as 223 people have filed their candidacy for the central member. The general convention is taking place from Saturday.

Voting is taking place today to elect a chairman and 63 members. As many as 2,200 voters would cast their votes, said Joint General Secretary, Rajaram Shrestha.

The closed session of the general convention amended the party’s statue and made the arrangement of a 127-member central working committee.

The amended statue has the provision that the newly elected chairman will nominate the remaining 50 per cent members. RSS
