CPN-UML gears up for the preparation of 9th GC

Kathmandu, June 02. The CPN-UML has geared up its preparations for up-coming 9th general convention. The party has started its intensified preparations even as  just a month remaining before the convention of the party.

The party has formed the office for the General Convention. Similarly, Party has set up its general convention principal management committee under the leadership of party General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, and Shankar Pokharel will be chaired of the secretary of the party’s general convention office,  today so as to ensure the successful general convention, beginning on July 3.

According to the party convenor of the publicity Pradip Gyawali , around 1,900 delegates are estimated to attend the 9th general convention. It has said that  in the statement which voting will be done through electronic process.

Likewise, other 21-member secretariat and 12-member sub-committees have been formed under the 65-member main committee.

As per the decision, Pradeep Gyawali will lead publicity sector, Ganga Lal Tuladhar lodging and transportation, Bishnu Prasad Paudel security and volunteer deployment, among others. According to the statement, this time  UML will not continue its publicity by wall painting, distributing the poster rather it will start its publicity by modern-based techno including SMS, Email, Social media and so on.

The central committee of the party had set up document draft committee under the chairmanship of party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal to draft the political journal, organisational report, proposal for the amendment of party’s statute and special proposal to be presented in the convention. The document was endorsed to be presented in the convention event by a Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML on Sunday.

The meeting has decided the party’s 9th general conventions’ slogan which is: “Institutionalize the peaceful peoples movement & build the prosperous Nepal under the legacy of Janata Ko Bahudaliya Janabad JaBaJa”.

In a statement  distributed in the press conference, It has said that 250,000 party memberships have already been renewed excluding the five districts.

In the concern raised by the journalists, UML Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal has assured that the leadership will be formed by consensus. Khanal echoed that the 9th GC of UML will be the convention for unity and which will lead the country in the prosperous ways.
