Outgoing UML Chair to be senior party leader ‘by-default’
Kathmandu, June 16. The amended statute of the CPM-UML)has proposed outgoing chairman as senior leader of the party automatically.
Incumbent chairman Jhalanath Khanal will be senior leader of the party automatically if the upcoming general convention of the party elects new chairman.
Chief of the CPN-UML Publicity Department, Pradeep Gyawali, said that the statute proposed for the amendment has determined the incumbent chairman as senior leader (ranking after the chairman) by-default.
The number of central committee members has been extended to 149 in the statute.
Similarly, the statute has also proposed that the number of office bearers in the party be extended to 15.
