Chairman Khanal will support to Oli: GS Pokhrel
Kathmandu, June 30. CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel has claimed that the party chair Jhal Nath Khanal will support to KP Oli on the party’s 9th national convention.
Speaking at the interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday, Pokhrel has said that there is no alternative of KP Oli for the party leadership as the demand of national politics. Pokhrel stressed that the party will choose the leadership on consensus as they have passed the political document.
Pokhrel has also claimed that majority of the representatives are in favor of Oli, in spite of the efforts to pull representatives on one’s side, KP Sharma Oli will win the post of chairperson in the upcoming 9th convention of the party. Pokhrel who himself is the contender of the post of general secretary from Oli panel, said that the majority of the central committee members, Politburo and Standing Committee members are in support to Oli for the new leadership, speaking at the program presided by the Reporters’ Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala.
Claiming that KP Oli has been promoting the ideology brought by the late Madan Bhandari, Pokhrel has said that the Oli will lead the party. He said,” Nepal & Khanal have already headed the party for a long time, so they have to be stay in the guardian’s role to guide the party in good pathway”. He added that now the turn to lead the party is Oli comrade.
Stressing that majority of the representatives are in the stand of leadership change, Pokhrel has claimed that the Oli-Gautam alliance has made under this spirit. He added that there is no faction and sub-faction in the general convention. He believes that Oli will lead the party in unite.
Arguing that there is still prevalence of the unhealthy competition of organizational structures, Pokhrel has said that this 9th national convention will help to seize such a unhealthy competition.
Stressing that the government’s new policy & programs is the reflection of coalition government, Pokhrel has stressed on not to criticize the governments’ new policy & programs.
