CPN-UML Convention kicks off: Tension erupted outside

Kathmandu, July 03. CPN-UML General Convention that kicked off here in at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Along with this, Tension erupted outside the venue of The agitating UML cadres vandalised the entrance gate after they were not allowed entrance to the jamboree. Only the convention representatives, guests, volunteers and media persons were allowed entrance during the opening ceremony.

While control to the tension erupted outside of the venue, Nepal Police & volunteers have taken an action against them to control the agitating cadres who have been continuously produced their dissident with chanted slogans against the acting Prime Minister Bam Dev Gautam ,party General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel & senior leaders.

At the same occasion, UCPN- Maoist leader Narayankaji Shrestha has pointed out the need for unity among the leftists and communists to draft a progressive constitution in the Constituent Assembly. Shrestha put forward such views while speaking at the inaugural session of the UML’s ninth general convention on Wednesday. Shrestha stressed the need for a working unity among the progressive forces.
He also stated that the parties should bring Mohan Baidya-led Maoist party onboard while drafting the new constitution.

While in the same occasion, Chairman of the Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum Loktantrik, Mr. Bijay Kumar Gachchadar has told that to promulgate the new constitution on time. He stressed that if the senior leaders will be failed to draft the new constitution then there might be collapsed the existence of leaders. Appreciating that the practices of democracy is much more better in the UML party than the old democratic party Nepali Congress.

Other senior leaders from the different parties have also wished for the successful of convention. Including Rajendra Mahato, CP Gajurel, Pashupati Shamser Rana,  Chandra Bahadur Gurung, Lokendra Bahadur Chand & so on.

The foreign guest who have also participated the inauguration ceremony of the 9th general convention given their greetings to the successful of national congress.

While in the function, Foreign Department Chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party Vijay Jolly has read out the greetings sent by his party chairman Raj Nath Singh & Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Jolly has stated that India will always support to flourish the democracy & peace here in Nepal. He stressed that India will also help to bring the solid solution for reduce the load shedding problems. He further stressed that to create the employment for those youth who have been compelled to go abroad for jobs.
