No internal matters should be tabled in the Modi’s visit : Thapa

KATHMANDU, JUL 29 – Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa has cautioned that there should be no talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled to visit Nepal next week, regarding Nepal’s internal matters.

Speaking at the interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Tuesday, Thapa said -Matters like monarchy , secular state and republicanism are internal matters of Nepal and hence they should not be discussed with the Indian PM.

He further stressed that “We should solve our internal problems by ourselves,” . Adding that the Indian PM should not be dragged into controversy. The RPP-N Chairman was of the opinion that agendas of economic development should be pushed forward rather than broaching up the ones regarding country’s internal matters, while speaking at the program presided by the Club’s president Rishi Dhamala.

Thapa further expressed hope that Modi’s visit could be crucial in mending ties between the two nations as the Indian government had come up with the policy of prioritising the neighbours. He added that the government should come up with national agendas taking all parties into confidence for any visits to be fruitful.

While in the same occasion, Reporters’ Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala has said that the upcoming Indian premier Modi’s visit should be made much more fruitful. He suggested to build the political consensus among the parties for building the Indo-Nepal relations in height & strenghten. Dhamala said, We have to take the benifit from the high-level visit of Indian Prime Minister. For this, We should sketch-out the roadmap of his visit.
