Truck and Tripper EA halts Kathmandu’s road
Kathmandu, August 29. Transportation along the Koteshwor-Baneshwor and Koteshowor-Gaushala road section has come to a grinding halt on Friday due to strike by the Truck and Tipper Entrepreneurs Association.
The agitating tipper operators under the the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs blocked the road at Koteshowr by parking the trippers.
Traffic movement has become chaotic and the general public has been left in lurch owing to the obstruction that began since 9 in morning. Tipper operators have been staging a protest against the government’s ban on the operation of crusher industries, which they say have left them unemployed.
The government has banned crusher industries from extracting stones, pebbles and sand failing to meet standards since mid-July.
