Leader Sahana cremated with nat’l honour
Kathmandu, September 23. CPN-UML leader Sahana Pradhan, who died on Monday night, was cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat with national honour on Tuesday. Pradhan was 88.
Pradhan’s son Umesh Shrestha lit the funeral pyre. Pradhan, undergoing treatment at Sanepa-based Vayodha Hospital for brain haemorrhage , was pronounced dead at 11:05 pm last night. Acting Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam draped Pradhan’s mortal remains with the national flag.
A contingent of the Armed Police Force offered final guard of honour to the late leader.Similarly, CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli laid the party flag and Chairperson of All Nepal Women’s Association (ANWA) Bidhyadevi Bhandari draped the association’s flag over Pradhan’s body.
She is survived by a son and a daughter.
