Sujata challenges party panel to show proof of foul play
Kathmandu, October 04. Nepali Congress (NC) Central Committee Member Sujata Koirala challenged the party’s disciplinary committee to show evidences of her acts against the party during the Constituent Assembly elections last year.
Speaking at the interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on saturday, Koirala has said she is ready to face any action if the committee produces reasonable evidences. She also requested party President and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to immediately withdraw the action against her.
Claiming the action prejudiced, she said the disciplinary committee engaged in her character assassination. She added that the disciplinary committee decided the actions on personal interests of its head Amod Prasad Upadhyaya, speaking the program presided by the Club’s President Rishi Dhamala.
Party’s central disciplinary committee has recommended suspending Koirala along with 182 other party members for three months for her role in defeating the party candidate in Morang 1 during the elections.
The party has given all 183 leaders a time of 35 days to submit applications for review of the actions recommended by disciplinary committee.
