Statute at earliest for stability, peace,prosperous and democracy: Satyarthi



Kathmandu, December 21. Nobel Peace Prize winner and the Founder of the Bachpan Bachao Aandolan Mr. Kailash Satyarthi has suggested Nepali leaders to promulgate a new constitution at the earliest for democracy, peace, stability and prosperity.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Sunday Satyarthi said, “Leaders of the nation of Lord Buddha and Pashupatinath should rise from petty interests and give a constitution to the country,” Satyarthi said, “We wish there was a strong democracy and progressive and inclusive constitution in Nepal.”

He has suggested that the new constitution should ensure freedom, equality, justice, human rights and child rights, speaking at the program presided by the Reporters’ Club’s President Rishi Dhamala.

Meanwhile, Satyarthi expressed his wish to work for children of Nepal. “Nepal is my second home,” the Nobel laureate said, “I am ready to work for education and health rights of children here.” He thanked former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for nominating him for the prestigious Nobel Prize.

Meanwhile, Club’s President Rishi Dhamala has also urged to the Nepali Social worker and activist to follow the path of Satyarthi.
