Chinese Minister Wang arrives Kathmandu



KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi has arrived in Kathmandu on a three-day goodwill visit to Nepal, leading a seven-member Chinese delegation.

Wang landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 12:00 noon on Today. According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Wang will head to Nagarkot after lunch for one night stay.

Mr. Wang is scheduled to hand over 26 different medical appliances worth Rs 200 million to the Civil Service Hospital at New Baneshwar. Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit will be present there. He will then participate in the Nepal-China Bilateral talks to be held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey will lead the Nepali delegation in the bilateral talks.

A joint press Joint Press Conference is scheduled to be held at the hotel after conclusion of the meeting that will begin at 10:30 am on Friday. Chinese Foreign Minister will then attend luncheon to be hosted by Minister Pandey in his honor.

Although itinerary is yet to be finalized, officials said Minister Wang is also scheduled to inaugurate the construction of Armed Police Force (APF) Academy to be constructed with Chinese assistance in Matatirtha area, Kathmandu and pay courtesy call on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Minister for Health Khaga Raj Adhikari.

Wang will attend a reception to be hosted by the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai later in the evening at Hotel Yak and Yeti. He is scheduled to leave for Dhaka on Saturday, wrapping up his three-day visit to Nepal.
