CK Raut arrested

Mahottarai, Dec 28. Madheshi activist Dr. CK Raut, released on bail in a sedition case, has been arrested again on Sunday.

Raut was detained from Pipara along the Mahottarai-Jaleshwor road section on his way to attend a mass assembly in Jaleshwor, the district headquarters. A team deployed from District Police Office, Mahottarai held the controversial activist and kept him under the detention at DPO.

Raut’s supporters are protesting his arrest. Seven protesters were injured after police baton charged to control the agitators. The injured are receiving treatment at Jaleshwor Hospital. Raut was scheduled to address the assembly at Mahendra Chowk in Jaleshwor.
