Pakistan beat UAE by 129 runs
KATHMANDU, March 4: Pakistan defeated United Arab Emirates by 129 runs in a world cup match in Napier on Wednesday. In reply to Pakistan huge total of 339, UAE could muster only 210 runs.
With this win, Pakistan has secured their second victory in this World Cup.
Earlier, invited to bat, Pakistan scored a challenging 339 for six against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a Pool B cricket World Cup match.
McLean Park is traditionally a batsman’s pitch and the decision of UAE captain Mohammad Tauqir to field first was unexpected but may give his bowlers use of a little bit of moisture at the start of the game. Tauqir said he hoped the decision would allow his team to apply early pressure, while Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said he was happy to bat first.
UAE and Pakistan occupy the last two places in Pool B. Pakistan posted its first win in three matches on Sunday when it beat Zimbabwe by 20 runs. UAE is winless after three games.
Both teams are taking unchanged starting lineups into the match. Pakistan won each of its previous two ODIs against UAE by nine wickets.
