Acid attack suspect arrested

KATHMANDU, March 20: The police have arrested a person on Friday who attacked two girls with acid in Basantapur on February 22.

According to a police source, the police arrested Jiwan BK, a previous tenant at victim Sangita Magar’s Basantapur-based house, on charges of acid attack.

Magar’s family had suspected the involvement of BK in the incident.

The police arrested alleged perpetrator BK in Gangtok, Sikkim.

It has been informed that BK will be made public through a press conference today afternoon.

The victims, Sangita Magar and Sima Basnet, were studying at a tution center in Jhochhen.
