Millions witness solar eclipse across UK and northern Europe
Millions of people across the UK and northern Europe have been witnessing a solar eclipse.
The last time it happened was in 1999, but at that time a total eclipse of the sun was not visible anywhere in the UK.
The proportion of the Sun covered by the Moon was 97% in the far north of Scotland, and 84% in London.
