Tourists’ arrival decline after snowfall in Myagdi
MYAGDI, March 24: The arrival of tourists in the district has declined especially after the heavy snowfall and the recent obstruction in the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Many trekkers used to visit Bhrung, Tatopani, Ghorepani and Punahil areas of Myagdi with the arrival of the Spring Season. Nearly 500 backpackers could be seen everyday, but it is declined to 100 now, said Bhim Pun, Secretary of the Ghorepani Hotel Entrepreneurs Association.The heavy snowfall at Thorangla pass and upper Mustang two weeks back discouraged many trekkers this year, he added.The jungle around Ghorepani is decorated with the blossoming rhododendron flowers. It has enchanting scenic view for the newcomers.
