Maoist students hurl stones at Mahat’s vehicle in Pokhara

POKHARA, March 25: Students from All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) have pelted stones at Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat’s vehicle at Simpane in Pokhara.

Minister Mahat was on his way to take part in a programme at Salyan VDC in Kaski district, when students from the UCPN (Maoist) affiliated union pelted stones at his vehicle. No damage was caused whatsoever.

Police has arrested ANNISU-R central member Kshitiz Sapkota among Laxmi Prasad Subedi, Netra Chapagain, Dinesh Poudel and Bishal Gurung after the incident.

Mahat headed towards the programme amid heavy security.
