CIAA files graft case against 23 NTB officials



KATHMANDU, Apr 3: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Friday filed a graft case at the Special Court against 23 officials of Nepal Tourism Board including two incumbent secretaries, one former secretary and three joint secretaries.

In addition, 29 persons have been named as witnesses.

The anti-graft constitutional body accused them of gobbling Rs. 690 million.

Former secretary Sushil Ghimire, two incumbent secretaries Sharad Chandra Paudel and Ranjan Krishna Aryal have been made defendants.

Paudel is the secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation where as Aryal is the secretary of the Nepal Law Commission.

Ratis Chandra Lal Suman, Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has also been made defendant.

Dilli Shiwakoti and Megh Bahadur Pandey who were also made defendants by the Commission are the joint secretaries at the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Forest respectively.

Two former Chief Executive Officers of NTB Subash Nirola and Prachanda Man Shrestha were also made defendants.
