Ex-PM Thapa’ body likely to be brought today
KATHMANDU, APR 16: It has been learnt that, the mortal body of veteran leader Thapa will be kept at his residence in Maligaun for the commiseration during the day today.
His body will be kept at the party office from 10 am to 12 noon on Friday. Then his body will be kept at Dasharath Stadium from 1 pm to 3 pm to offer last tributes.
Thapa had undergone gastrectomy at the Medanta Hospital on April 10 after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.
He witnessed deterioration in his condition yesterday late afternoon. He was kept on ventilator and he died at around 10:44 pm after suffering multiple organ failure.
Meanwhile, an emergency meeting of the RPP has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of its leader and passed a condolence proposal.
The meeting held at party Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana’s residence in Maharajgunj this morning has made a conclusion that the sudden demise of former PM has caused irreparable loss to the party as well as the Nepali politics.
The meeting also wished eternal peace to the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand-led RPP also expressed condolence over the demise of Thapa.
