UCPN (M) calls for national unity government to tackle post-quake situation

Kathmandu, May 16: UCPN (Maoist) has stressed the need of common resolve from all political parties at this moment of crisis in the country, following the massive disaster.

At a press meet at the party central office Parisdanda Saturday, party Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma argued that the formation of a national consensus government was the best option to tackle adversity caused by the disaster and gear up for rebuilding the nation.

Strong and effective government was necessary for the reconstruction of the country ravaged by the recent major earthquake, he said. Stating that relief distribution in the disaster-hit areas lacked effectiveness; he accused of rampant politicisation in the relief efforts and urged the government to ensure the equal allocation of relief assistance to the quake survivors.
As claimed by the UCPN (M), it has mobilised over 100,000 leaders and cadres through direct and indirect channels for the relief and reconstruction in the earthquake- affected areas. RSS
