NC to inform folks about new constitution

Kathmandu, Sept 21: The ruling Nepali Congress has decided to go to the people’s doorsteps to inform them regarding the issues included in the new constitution.

A central committee meeting of the Nepali Congress held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar today decided that implementation of the new constitution would be successful only if the achievements of the new constitution could be taken among the people.

NC Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said that the meeting drew the conclusion that all political parties should take initiatives to inform the people about the positive achievements of the new constitution.

The NC also decided to take initiatives to address the concerns of the disgruntled parties through consensus, collaboration, unity and reconciliation.

The party said that some demands of the agitating parties could be addressed in the amendment of the new constitution and decided to take initiatives for the same.

The meeting extended a special thanks to NC President and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and party’s leaders, saying the dream of the people for making the new constitution through the Constituent Assembly (CA) came true under the leadership of the party.

Similarly, the meeting also thanked President Dr Ram Baran Yadav as well as CA Chairman Subas Nembang.

Badu said that the party would declare the new date in order to hold its general convention within next six months and they would inform the Election Commission on September 22 in this regard. RSS
