Demonstrator killed in clash with police in Gaur

Rautahat, Dec 20: A person was killed Sunday in a clash that took place between the police and cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front in Gaur Municipality of Rautahat.
The deceased has been identified as a local Shesh Tawarej, 17. He sustained injury to his right side of stomach in police firing , the District Police Office Rautahat said.
He breathed his last in course of treatment at Gaur Hospital. Police argued it had to resort to the opening of eight rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the irate mob, and fired shots in self-defense as initial efforts to control the crowd proved futile.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office Rautahat has imposed a curfew order in the district headquarters Gaur today, to be effective from 4:00 pm until further notice, according to DSP Rajendra Kharel.RSS
