Khanal says nation development mission starts from Ilam

Ilam, Dec 24: CPN (UML) senior leader and former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal has said that the nation development mission has started from the eastern district Ilam.

While laying the foundation stone for the construction of a building of Suryodaya Municipality in the district today, leader Khanal added that the district had immense potentiality for the development, therefore, the nation development mission was started from the same district.

On the occasion, he added that the Municipality has the most potential for the development among the newly announced municipalities and all should be united for the purpose.

He further said that there were different touristic destinations in the district that lure the visitors and therefore these heritages should be developed properly.

The former Prime Minister claimed that the developmental projects were started after the end of the feudal monarchy and it should be speeded up. In a different context, he added that the new constitution was issued with the joint efforts and unity of major political parties and so unity was essential even for the reconstruction of the quake-damaged infrastructures.

Similarly, official at the Municipality Rajendra Bhattarai informed that the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development provided over 20 million rupees to the Municipality to construct the building. RSS
