Agreement will be reached with UDMF by tomorrow; UCPN (Maoist) Chair Dahal

Biratnagar (Morang), Jan 2: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said that an agreement would be reached with agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) by Sunday.

Talking to media persons at Biratnagar airport, he said that formal and informal talks were held with the UDMF on Friday in this regard and a dialogue was also held with Mahanta Thakur, chairman of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party that evening as well.
The Maoist chief said that his party agreed on the matter of the dialogue to be held with the UDMF on Sunday. He added that consensus was growing on Constitution Amendment Bill within his party and that his party had no objection on whether treating naturalised citizenship as per existing laws or interim constitution.
Dahal was on his way to attend a programme in Itahari, Sunsari.
On the matter of the demarcation, he urged the UDMF to be flexible on the matter as the issue being complicated of its sorts would be settled after forming political or parliamentary committee within three months. He also urged the UDMF to resolve crisis across the country set off by the agitations in the Tarai for the past four months.
In a different context, the Maoist Chair said that India never suggested him to retain Nepal as a Hindu State or to switch to secularism. RSS
