NC Vice-President Poudel returns home; stresses on smooth supply



Kathmandu, Jan 8: Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel returned home last night after attending a programme of Patanjali Yogpeeth at Haridwar and holding meetings with Indian senior leaders and ministers in New Delhi.

During the meetings, NC Vice-President Poudel apprised the Indian leaders and ministers of complexities surfaced in Nepal-India friendly relations and the problems Nepali people are facing of late.
On the occasion, he stressed the need to ease the current disruption of supply on the border and give outlet to the problems at the earliest possible.
Leader Poudel said that he found Indian side aware about the intricacies seen in Nepal for no smooth supply of goods and services. “The Indian side shared their efforts to resolve the problems”, the Vice-President told RSS.
He further said, “I told Indian leaders and ministers to show proactive measures to immediately explore solution of the problems and ease the supply arrangement. From our end, we are effortful to address Nepal’s domestic problems through mutual dialogue and consultations”.
Poudel further shared that he found the Indian leaders – to whom he met in Delhi – expressing good will and sympathy to the crisis in Nepal and with opinions to not prolong the existing situation anymore.
In a meeting with Congress-I leader Dr Karan Singh on Thursday, the veteran Indian leader expressed concern over the difficulties facing by Nepali people and stressed the need to find out amicable solution very soon, Poudel noted.
Likewise, Vice-President Poudel held meetings with leaders of different parties including Bharatiya Janata Party Vice-President Shyam Jajas.
On the first day of his Delhi sojourn, Poudel called on Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, lawmaker DP Tripathee and former ambassadors to Nepal.
