Ultra runner Pandit felicitated
Kathmandu, Jan 11: Record-holder ultra runner and mountaineer Sanjaya Pandit, who climbed Mt Kilimanjaro of Africa walking backwards, has been rewarded with a cash prize today.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Prabal Shumsher Rana awarded Pandit with 100 thousand rupees in recognition for the special contribution he has made to spread the country’s name and fame throughout the world through mountaineering.Pandit had ascended Mt Kilimanjaro last December in 25 hours and 40 minutes walking backward from the base camp.
He has climbed Mt Everest and Mt Manaslu of Nepal, Mt Fuji of Japan and the highest mountains of all the continents except Antarctica.
