Nepal fails to maintain friendly relations with India: Chand



Banepa, Jan 12: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand has said that the existing problem has surfaced for lack of understanding.

At a regional training organised by the RPP at Dhulikhel today, RPP Chair Chand accused the country for its failure to maintain the friendly relations with India.Stating that Nepal has political, religious and cultural relations with India, he said there is deep friendship between Nepal and India and added that a trend should be development to help each other in need.

Chair Chand said that India has imposed border blockade in the pretext of Madhes agitation. He said, “The government should address genuine demands of Madhes. Positive talks should be held in order to address Madhes agitation.”

Stating that the complex situation has surfaced after the major political parties promulgated the new constitution in hurry, the former PM argued that this situation would not have come if the new constitution was promulgated one week later.

Similarly, RPP leader and former Home Minister Buddhi Bahadur Tamang said that there was no difference in principle between RPP-Nepal and RPP.

Some 60 chairpersons, secretaries, and women members of RPP from 19 districts of central zone are participating in the training.
