Leader Dahal pledges full support to Sajha Publication



Kathmandu, Jan 16: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpakamal Dahal has pledged his full support for protecting and promoting Sajha Publication.

Receiving a memorandum submitted by the Publication’s representatives here on Saturday, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal assured the visiting team that he will draw the attention of the Prime Minister (PM) and Minister for Education towards preserving the Publication.

Dahal, also former Prime Minister, promised, “Sajha Publication which bears the history in itself, should not phase out. I will hold consultation with the PM and Education Minister in this connection.”

He further reaffirmed that he and his Party was clear about the contributions to be made for making the Publication more professional and competitive.

The Publication has been spearheading a ‘Save Sajha’ campaign and has been holding meetings with the President, Prime Minister, Minister of Education in a bid to seek their support to revamp and conserve the Publication.

One of the Board Members of the Publications, Pradeep Nepal, underscored the need to undertake the reform campaign for the Publication. He was of the opinion that the Publication could be facilitate in the sales and distribution of the books published by the Janak Sikshya Samagri Kendra.

Another board member Dinanath Sharma spoke of the need to garner the support from one and all to let the Publication assume further height.
Similarly, Dolindra Prasad Sharma, Chairperson and the General Manager of Publication, briefed leader Dahal about the current status of Publication and its future plans and policies.

Established in 2064, Sajha Publication is considered to be parent of all the Nepali publications. The state-owned Publication has been publishing various literary items at a reasonable price.

The Publication has demanded a subsidized loan worth Rs 400 million with the government to revamp the institution.
