UDMF to launch capital-centric agitation



Kathmandu, Feb 3: The agitating Madhesi leaders have stated that they would launch capital-based stern agitation to take their protest to conclusion.

At a programme organized by the Reporters Club here today, they said that the United Democratic Madheshi Front, the alliance of disgruntled Madhesh-centric political parties, was soon going to call a meeting in the capital to deliberation on the same.
The Madheshi leaders argued that the border blockade and Madhes agitation would be ended if government addresses their demands at the earliest.
On the occasion, Rajendra Shrestha, Joint-Chairman of Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal said that the Front was going to change its form and course of protest.
Also speaking at the programme Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Pashupati Shumsher Rana underscored a need for the major political parties to acknowledge the sentiments of the Madheshi people.
Furthermore, leader Rana stressed that the political parties should forge consensus among on the number and forms of federal provinces so as to give an outlet to the political stalemate at the earliest.
On the occasion, Manish Kumar Suman, General-Secretary of Sadbhawana Party clarified that their agitation was aimed at securing the welfare of the Madheshi people.
Likewise, Ram Naresh Rae, Chairman of Terai-Madhesh Sadbhawana Party claimed that they were fighting for their rights.
