Late Koirala’s last rites in progress
Kathmandu, Feb 10: The final rites of Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala are in progress at the Pashupati Aryaghat with state honours.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reached Aryaghat and offered homage to the late Koirala by draping Koirala’s mortal remains with the National Flag.The Speaker, former Prime Ministers, Deputy Prime Ministers the Ministers, leaders of different political parties and representatives of the diplomatic missions of various countries were present at the Aryaghat to offer their last tributes to Koirala.
Family members, relatives, party leaders and cadres and thousands of grieving people are assembled at the Aryaghat for paying last respects to leader Koirala.
Earlier, Koirala’s funeral procession was held from Dasrath Stadium to Aryaghat. The funeral procession passed through Thapathali, Singh Durbar, Putali Sadak, Krishna Pauroti, Gyaneshwar, Gaushala before reaching Aryaghat.
