Biratnagar, Feb 26: A fund collection campaign has raised Rs. 734,000 for the Nepali football team that won the coveted gold in the recently concluded 12th South Asian Games.
Convenor of the Birat Gold Cup organizing committee Rajendra Raut handed over the amount to General Secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Dhirendra Pradhan and Treasurer Birat Jung Shahi at a function held here on Thursday. The Committee has also added a sum of Rs. 200,000 for the gold medalist footballers.
The amount was collected from Biratnagar Sub-metropolis, Industry Association Morang, UML Morang, Nepali Congress Morang and Morang Trade Association, among others.
