NC is not eager to go to power: Deuba



Kathmandu, March 15: Newly elected President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has said that the NC was not desirous to get to power.

At a programme organised by the Nepal Press Union at his residence at Budhanilkantha today to congratulate him on his election to the post of Party President, Deuba said that the party for this time would be devoted on the demands of Madhes, implementation of new constitution, election of local bodies, among others, after playing a role of watch dog remaining out of the power.
He said, “I will move ahead uniting the party.”
The former Prime Minister said that support and contribution of Nepali press was indispensible for strengthening democracy and implementation of new constitution.
On a different note, NC President Deuba argued that trying to appoint former lawmaker to the independent judiciary was shameful.
A delegation comprising NPU President Badri Sigdel, General Secretary Ajaybabu Siwakoti had reached the Deuba residence.
Office-bearers and members elected from the 13th National Convention of the NC would assume the office on Wednesday, NC Party Office Secretary, Pradeep Parajuli, told the National News Agency
